Artist Statement |
My work
explores contrast, tension and the natural beauty of glass. Light, colour and
the organic form of glass are set against the weight of stone, the hardness
of steel, the texture of rust, the threat of gravity. The intention is to set exquisitely
finished forms against shattered surface patterns, hard lines against soft
finishes, each the foil for the other in the forming of dramatic sculptural
statements. I am continually exploring, striving to uncover qualities
intrinsic in the glass and myself, to heighten the impact of each piece. |
