SONY Australia
North Ryde
Sony's brief was to create a three dimensional artwork in the Foyer which would be in keeping with Sony's image as an innovator in the world of electronics.
The solution was a commissioned work by Thomas Maurer on sheets of aluminium showing symbols of Sony's products which have the optical illusion of being three dimensional but are placed on a two dimensional surface. The objects change as the viewer moves past. The effect is enhanced by two oil lamps which project constantly changing colours onto the artworks
