Bare Island - Botany Bay, Sydney

Bare Island was originally developed a Military base with gun placements during Colonial times.It was subsequently converted into a quarantine hospital and then an old age home. It is now being used as a museum.
The French explorerer, Perouse, landed here shortly after the British had landed, and claimed the land for France, not knowing about the British.
